Wilfried Zaha showed signs of getting back to his best as Crystal Palace beat Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night.
On the chalkboard
The former Manchester United flop has been undergoing something of a difficult season.
Prior to Monday’s game, he had scored just twice in the Premier League, while providing just one assist.
However, against Palace’s bitter rivals, Zaha stepped up.
Losing to a Neal Maupay goal, the Eagles needed some inspiration and Zaha provided it, floating in from the left before smashing an effort into the top corner.

And, per WhoScored, the strike was well deserved.
Throughout the 90 minutes, he had 53 touches of the ball and completed five dribbles, while winning 100% of the tackles he attempted.
His goal was Zaha’s third of the season and also his third in five games.
Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings….
Keep it up
The Ivory Coast international’s challenge now is to keep this going.
His form at the start of the season was nothing short of terrible; he went 12 league games without a goal and has registered just one assist.
All of a sudden, though, things look that bit rosier.
He’s scored three in five and is easily the club’s best player when he is on it.
If Palace are to keep climbing the table – they are currently in the top half – they can’t afford to have players who are inconsistent and frustrating.
That has characterised Zaha this season and he will surely know that his form has been unacceptable.
Now he has to keep growing and keep improving as the festive fixtures continue.
Meanwhile, Zaha has admitted to one thing at Palace.
